Eligibility Requirements

International students must meet the following criteria:

General Eligibility

  • Applicants must hold foreign citizenship.
  • Neither parent should be a Korean citizen.
  • Korean-origin applicants must have completed all primary and secondary education outside South Korea.
  • Applicants with Korean citizenship (including dual nationality) are not eligible under the international admissions category.

Academic Requirements

  • Students must maintain a GPA of 2.7 out of 4.3 after their first year at KAIST.

Language Proficiency

  • English proficiency tests (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) are recommended but not mandatory.
  • Applicants without test scores can still apply without any disadvantage.
